Herbst Appliance
The Herbst appliance is often used alongside braces to encourage forward
growth of the lower jaw. It can deliver noticeable results quickly, helping to
improve jaw alignment and support a straighter, healthier smile.
Mandibular Advancement
This is a more aesthetic and comfortable alternative to the Herbst appliance. Mandibular
advancement tabs help guide the lower jaw forward, improving both jaw function and facial aesthetics.
TAD
A Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD) is a small, screw-like implant
temporarily placed in the bone to assist with complex tooth movements, such
as correcting negative cants. In some cases, TADs can shorten treatment
time or serve as a non-surgical alternative. Dr. Ting is one of the few
orthodontists in our community who routinely uses TADs to achieve
movements that would otherwise be difficult or impossible.
